What are essential items to keep in my Storm box?
Sep 05, 2008 | candle kitsIn an attempt to be prepared for the upcoming storm season, Im looking to make a "storm" kit that has candles, flash lights, etc that can be grabbed at any given moment to taken to the basement with us (for Tornados) or in the dark in case of a "lights out" Thunderstorm.
What are some ideas of what I should keep in the Storm box?
serious/practical answers only, please
Go to READY.GOV..
There they have detailed lists of everything that you need for an emergency kit..
*Flashlight(s)/Laterns w/ batteries and spares…
*Water enough for acouple days
*Canned goods and non perishables like granola bars/cheese and crackers.. Dried fruit/cereal.
*Duct Tape
*A list of where the gas valve (shut-off) water shut off etc….
*Waterproof poncho's
* A camping stove to cook
*Fully stocked first-aid kit
That's about all I can think of… READY.GOV will probably have a more detailed list
