What would happen if I waxed my legs with candle wax and paper?
Aug 30, 2008 | candle kitsWould this work like it normally would with the right materials? If not, are there any materials I can use to wax my legs that I can find at home? I’m a male swimmer and I don’t want people to see me buying a waxing kit.

well candlewax would dry up too quick to wax and it wouldn’t latch on to the hairs on your legs….i’m trying to think of another at home way, but i think all you can use is…self-checkout?

Umm.
I don’t think that it would work like that ..
You could try really heavy Duty Duct Tape..
Just make sure that it doesn’t stick to your skin..
Goodluck.

Nobody is actually judging you when you buy the waxing kit. Speaking as someone who used to work at a pharmacy, I helped people buy waxing kits, condoms, yeast infection treatments, etc. We really don’t care who you are, or what you buy. Your embarrassment is all in your head and if you want to swim for a while, suck it and buy the kit, cuz it won’t be your last one.
I actually went with a friend once and watched him get completely waxed from the neck down. Good times………….

None of that would work and stop caring about what people think when your buying anything…if thats what you need then dont be ashamed they are not going to see you doing it anyway.

The paper would tear, and the candle wax would likely burn you. Not the look you were looking for is it?
Here’s a recipe from E/How.com:
Instructions
Difficulty: Easy
Things You’ll Need:
* 1 cup sugar
* half a lemon
* molasses or dark corn syrup
* microwave safe bowl
* spoon
* glass jar
* patience
Step1
Make sure you have a spacious and clean working area before you begin. Lay out some newspaper or a baking sheet to protect the area you’re working in from any sticky situations.
Step2
Pour your one cup of sugar in a microwave safe bowl, along with the honey and the dark corn syrup or molasses. Put your bowl in the microwave for about three to four minutes. The bowl will be extremely hot, so take great care in making sure you don’t burn yourself by wearing oven gloves. Squeeze the juice of the lemon into the mixture and mix with a wooden stick.
Step3
Put your bowl back in the microwave until the mixture has completely dissolved. It should have a thick, sticky consistency and all the sugar crystals should have melted. The color will be similar to burnt amber.
Step4
Give it one last mix and carefully pour mixture into glass jar. Let your newly made wax cool down before attempting to use as you could burn yourself.
Step5
Before applying wax, make sure you apply cornstarch or baby powder to the area, as it absorbs moisture and allows the hair to be removed much more smoothly. Use cotton muslin wax strips that you can pick up from any beauty store or cut up old cotton shirts into strips to use.
~~~~
The baby powder also helps keep the wax from sticking to your skin instead of the hair you’re trying to remove.
I would suck it up and go in to the store and buy a kit. heck you could just say its for your girlfriend hope I have the right one. If your feeling that awkward.
No, that would definitely not work. Too much moisture with the candle and your skin. Plus with you being a male, hair is usually thicker than women’s. I would suggest ordering online if you really don’t want to go to a store. Go on google or Target.com and search the web for sites that sell them . You just have to pay for shipping.
